Lucky Saddle… is it really??

Lucky Saddle… is it really??

Welcome to the Lucky Saddle blog!

I have finally got my bum into gear and set up my own cycling blog, and so here it is, my first (and hopefully not the last!) article… I hope you enjoy it!

I suppose many people are wondering why Lucky Saddle?

Well I have a number of men to thank, mainly from Gosport, those who wouldn’t look too out of place on a Jeremy Kyle show. You know the type – tops off showcasing some hideous tattoos, a can of cider in one hand, rollie in the other.  And so, as I pedal past, minding my own business (usually thinking about whether to have a glass of wine or a G&T when I get home), it happens…

‘oi oi… lucky saddle’…

Yup, I’m not lying, it happens. And it happens a lot.

Sometimes I laugh. Often I shake my head in disbelief, and every now and again I give my bitchiest look and mutter ‘grow up’ under my breath, although this encourages some dirty laughter.

And then I think to myself, is it really a lucky saddle?  Any other keen cyclists who do a daily commute in the wind, rain and (very rarely) sunshine will know that it’s not a lucky saddle at all. In fact, it’s a pretty grim saddle.  Coupled with a large bottom in some hideous lycra trousers with a pampers stuck in it, for an hour everyday, I would say, it’s probably the unluckiest saddle going.

And so that’s where the name came from. Not just a name thought up quickly on the spot, but a name that has come from years of cycling and experience, so thank you to all those that have hollered at me and given me the inspiration to write this blog.. you know who you are 😉

And so I’ll finish up my first ever blog with a simple request, look out for me, I’m the girl wearing an adult version of a pampers on her bum, on a black and pink road bike, and if you see me make sure you give me a holler, it may just make me smile!

I’ll be back again soon with more stories, mainly about cycling, fitness events, cake, wine and G&T…

Did someone mention wine??…
